Best Tricks To Teach Your Dog?

Hi Lizbeth. There are so many tricks you can teach your dog, and we have a guide on 27 of the best dog tricks. There you can find info about teaching fun commands such as "play the piano," "wave," " speak & quiet," "jump through a hula hoop," "twirl," and many more. I think teaching your pup to use dog communication buttons is incredibly fun for both pup and parent, so why not give those a go, too? Let us know how you get on!

WHAT?! The dog plays the piano. 🥲 I love the carry a bucket trick... I see a super cute trick-or-treater in our future. Just have to come up with a good costume!

Hi Lizbeth.

Try High Five. Start with your dog in a sitting position. Hold a treat in your hand and let them sniff it. When they lift their paw, say “high five” and reward them. Practice until they offer their paw on command.

@rmcd the high five trick is a good one, I may need to teach my dog that! @lizbeth, my grandpa taught his dog the abc's. He would put some cheerios on the floor. Then he would say "o-a, o-b, o-c, o-j" etc, whatever letters. Then, he would finally say "ok!" and his dog would then eat the cheerios. I always thought that was a fun one.

I still struggle to get my dog to follow basic commands like sit and stay. One seems to simply ignore me. I'd love to teach them tricks, like high five, but I need to get them to behave first. Any ideas of where to start?
