What's the best technique when brushing my dog's teeth?

I just bought an oral care kit for my dog that includes a toothbrush, finger brush, and brushing gel. The brush has a three-sided design (look up TropiClean toothbrush to see what I mean), which seems a bit tricky to use. I didn't want to overwhelm him on the first go, so I really just let him lick the toothpaste off the brush and did some light brushing in the front. My biggest concern is how to get is back teeth though. Any advice?

I totally get it! Those three-sided brushes can feel awkward at first, but they’re actually super handy once you get the hang of it. For the back teeth, I’ve found it helps to start slow and ease your dog into it—maybe try using the finger brush first to get him used to something in his mouth. Once he's more comfortable, gently lift his lip on one side and focus on just a few back teeth at a time. You can always reward him with a treat after each mini-session to keep it positive. It’s all about patience and building up to those harder spots!
